Offshore contracts: Borr secures LoA for jack-up

Offshore drilling contractor Borr Drilling secured a letter of award for its Saga jack-up drilling rig from an undisclosed operator in southeast Asia

The programme is expected to commence in Q4 2022, in direct continuation of the current contract, for a duration of four years plus options.
Last month, Borr secured new dates and extensions for five jack-ups. The company currently has 20 contracted rigs out of 23 delivered rigs.

Seadrill announced the West Hercules semi-submersible drilling rig has begun drilling the first of two exploration wells in the Flemish Pass Basin offshore Canada.
Seadrill manages the SFL Corp-owned rig, which is on contract to Equinor until Q4 2022. Equinor is active in the eastern coast of Canada, managing numerous discoveries in the Flemish Pass basin.
Last week, Odfjell Drilling took over the marketing and management services for the West Hercules rig. When the rig completes its work offshore Canada, it will return to Norway to complete a five yearly special periodic survey.
