At 08:58 on May 6, the ignition ceremony for the 10th 115,000 DWT /crude oil carrier CHB3018, built by Changhong International for Greek shipowner NAVIOS, was held in the panel block joint workshop.

At 10:58, the keel laying ceremony for the 5th 115,000 DWT /crude oil carrier CHB3017 for NAVIOS was held on No. 2 slipway.

The shipowner’s on-site supervision team, representatives of LR classification society, as well as company leaders and heads of relevant departments jointly attended to witness the official entry of these two vessels into the production and construction stage and the key stage of slipway assembly.

This series of vessel types is a new generation of Aframax deep-well pump tanker developed based on the latest rules and regulations. The overall length is approximately 249.9 meters, the molded breadth is 44 meters, and the molded depth is 21.5 meters. It is classed with Lloyd’s Register. In addition to conventional fuel oil, the vessel can also be converted to use clean energy methanol and LNG as fuel in the future. Meanwhile, the reservation for medium-voltage shore power provides favorable conditions for the shipowner to connect to the medium-voltage shore power system in the future, which can effectively reduce carbon, sulfur, and other atmospheric pollution generated by the use of auxiliary generators during port berthing. HVSC, as the most effective environmental protection solution, is being adopted by more and more shipowners. Furthermore, this vessel also adopts advanced single-tank single-pump hydraulically driven deep-well pumps (Framo), increasing cargo diversity and providing greater operational value.
