Over 350 young people and more than 30 companies participated today in the Career Day of the Blue Skills Village, hosted at the Congress Center of the Porto Antico in Genoa. The event, included in the program of the Genoa Shipping Week 2025 promoted by Assagenti, aimed to represent an opportunity to bring together job supply and demand in the marine economy sector.

“Between individual interviews, orientation, and in-depth sessions, the day – coordinated by the Genova Blue District _Job Centre – was a central step in the broader pathway that aims to build a permanent space dedicated to information, training, and employment in the maritime, logistics, and nautical sector. The Blue Skills Village is a choral project that actively involves the City of Genoa (through the Job Centre), the Liguria Region (through the Employment Centres), the University of Genoa, the Merchant Marine Academy, the San Giorgio Nautical Institute, and the main industry associations: Assagenti, Assiterminal, Spediporto, Confindustria Nautica and Genova for Yachting,” a joint note explained.

In addition to public events like the Career Day, the Blue Skills Village offers a continuous personalized consultancy service at the headquarters of the Genova Blue District, where industry experts provide guidance on training, required skills, new technologies, sustainability, and professional opportunities. A reference point for those wishing to build their future in the blue economy. Created with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation as part of the Linea Blu program, the Blue Skills Village presents itself as an open and replicable model, capable of attracting new entities and enhancing the potential of the Ligurian territory.
