Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos (TPE), the concessionaire of the Port of Paita, Peru, surpassed the record set in 2022 regarding the transfer of TEUs, when the mark of 352 thousand TEUs was reached.
Specifically, from January 1, 2025 to date, the multipurpose port facility operator mobilized 357 thousand TEUs, which represented a growth of 44% compared to the same time frame in 2024. Furthermore, it exceeded by 5 thousand TEUs the total handled in 2022.
“With this volume, TPE consolidates itself as the second port in container movement in Peru, strengthening our participation in the national port system and in the country’s logistics chain,” reported the concessionaire.
“This milestone confirms the capacity of the TPE team and the terminal’s infrastructure to meet the growing demand of the region, providing a service that meets the needs of our clients,” it added.
Peruvian public-use ports
For reference, it is worth mentioning that Peruvian public-use ports transferred more than 2.9 million TEUs between January and September 2025, a quantity that implied an increase of 18.8%, according to figures provided by the National Port Authority (APN).
In the segment, DP World Callao led with 1,540,684 TEUs, equivalent to 52.3% of the national total. APM Terminals Callao, for its part, handled 932,960 TEUs, corresponding to 31.7%.
For its part, TPE ranked in third place with 257,339 TEUs and a share of 8.7%, while the Port of Chancay, which entered the ranking for the first time, placed fourth with 119,859 TEUs, followed by the Port of Paracas with 60 thousand TEUs.
