PGS awarded new contract off West Africa PGS

Norwegian seismic acquisition specialist PGS has secured a new 4D survey contract offshore West Africa.

The Oslo-listed company said the deal is with an international energy player and that project mobilisation is set for early September.

The contract with an undisclosed value has a total duration of about 65 days, with an option to extend.

“After completion of scheduled acquisitions programs during the Northern Europe summer season we will steam a vessel to West Africa to commence this contract. By combining the Ramform acquisition platform with our proprietary multi-sensor GeoStreamer technology we will provide the client with high-quality 4D seismic data,” said Rune Olav Pedersen, president and CEO at PGS.

PGS pioneered the GeoStreamer 4D acquisition solution in West Africa in 2012 and has since carried out over 50 surveys in the region. According to its latest fleet activity report, the company has Ramform Hyperion working in Norway and Ramform Tethys in the UK.
