On June 24, six newly built berths at Pinghu Dushan Port Area, including A5/6, /22, and /26, successfully passed the port open acceptance inspection, marking a leapfrog improvement in the comprehensive service capability of Pinghu’s port for foreign trade.
The six berths that passed the port open acceptance inspection are all key projects under Zhejiang Province’s “Thousand Projects and Trillion Investments” initiative, covering cargo types such as containers, general cargo, and liquid bulk cargo. Among them, berths /22 and /26 serve as the core components of Jiaxing Port’s first sea-river intermodal smart project. Leveraging “5G+Beidou” technology, the project has established a port-wide cloud-controlled automation center and a port-wide intelligent dynamic vehicle dispatch center, enabling fully automated container operations from “open sea to yard to inland river.” Berths A5/6 are located in the liquid bulk cargo operation area of Dushan Port Area. The supporting storage area can directly connect to the core production enterprises in the park via sealed pipelines, achieving “point-to-point” efficient supply of key production raw materials such as paraxylene, methanol, and ethylene glycol, thereby ensuring the continuity and stability of production for downstream enterprises from the source.
In the next step, the Pinghu Municipal Transportation Bureau will take the opening of these berths as an opportunity to collaborate with port operators in continuously expanding domestic and international shipping routes, fully unleashing the logistics benefits brought by port capacity expansion. At the same time, it will actively promote the “road-to-water” shift for bulk cargo, further reducing the comprehensive logistics costs in the region, and support the high-quality development of sea-river intermodal transport in the Yangtze River Delta through a comprehensive, multi-level multimodal transport network.
