The Pacific Merchant Shipping Association (PMSA) has announced the retirement of its President, John McLaurin, after 29 years of service.

McLaurin became President of PMSA in 1995 and has been a prominent figure for the maritime sector ever since.

During his tenure, PMSA members reportedly spent billions of dollars in new port infrastructure, extended and modernised ocean freight and intermodal supply networks on the US West Coast.

PMSA has thrived during his tenure, as he reportedly expanded and integrated various regional trade associations in California and Washington state into a single coordinated lobbying and policy platform.
