Port Canaveral launched the expansion and renovation project of Cruise Terminal 10. The initiative, valued at 95 million dollars and whose completion is scheduled for November 2027, will be able to accommodate the largest ships in the industry.
“We have applied everything we have learned about cruise operations to create a highly functional and visually attractive terminal,” stated Captain John W. Murray, executive director of Port Canaveral.
Designed by the architecture firm Bermello Ajamil, based in Miami, the renovated port will feature spacious, modern interiors with a minimalist style, colorful works of art, a striking glass facade that will allow more natural light to enter, and other design elements that will create a welcoming and pleasant environment for passengers.
The security and baggage control areas are also being expanded, new elevators and escalators are being incorporated, along with updated signage and modern HVAC systems, which will improve the overall guest experience.
Captain John W. Murray, executive director of Port Canaveral, added that “our investments in the cruise sector focus on ensuring that passenger arrivals and departures are comfortable, efficient, and, above all, that they contribute to the high-quality experience we offer to our cruise partners and their passengers.”
Built by PCL Construction Services, Inc., of Orlando, the redesigned terminal will span more than 145,000 square feet in total, almost 30 percent larger than the existing space.
