Opentop, the innovation center of Valenciaport, announced the holding of the third edition of the International Port Entrepreneurship Congress (PEIC), which will take place on October 22 at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, within the framework of the Valencia Digital Summit (VDS).

The congress will address four strategic thematic axes: blue economy, energy transition and sustainability, logistics chain efficiency, and port security and resilience. In each of these blocks, three startups will present their innovative solutions, followed by round tables that will bring together sector experts and venture capital representatives.

The day will begin with an inaugural dialogue between Mar Chao, president of the Valencia Port Authority, and Antonio Torregrosa, general director of the Valenciaport Foundation, who will open the doors of innovation to a global audience of sector professionals.

The program includes a session of the Port Innovators Network (PIN), with representation from the innovation centers of the ports of Halifax (Canada), Hamburg (Germany), Tyne (United Kingdom) and San Diego (USA); as well as a reverse presentation session where experts will present the latest trends in international investment in the port sector.

Since its inception, PEIC has been characterized by its ability to generate synergies between the different agents of the port ecosystem. This year marks the debut of the PEIC Audience Award, an award that will recognize the startup voted most popular by the congress attendees, thus reinforcing the participatory and open nature of the event.

“It is a great satisfaction to welcome participants to the third edition of PEIC in Valencia, an event that has been consolidated in the international port entrepreneurship agenda due to the profile of the attendees and its format, where international trends in port innovation are concentrated in a single day from the perspective of startups, sector experts, venture capital, the port community and public port institutions,” said Antonio Torregrosa, general director of the Valenciaport Foundation.
