Port Everglades is making history by receiving three new cruise ships in November: the Celebrity Xcel from Celebrity Cruises; the Disney Destiny from Disney Cruise Line; and the Star Princess from Princess Cruises.

“Cruises are more popular than ever, and companies are exceeding passenger expectations every time a new ship arrives on the market, like those arriving at Port Everglades, which offer more entertainment and dining options, in addition to cutting-edge technology with more environmentally friendly fuels and impressive connectivity,” stated Joseph Morris, Chief Executive Officer and Port Director of Port Everglades.

The Princess Cruises ship, the second in the Sphere class, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), will celebrate its inaugural season at Port Everglades starting November 7; Disney Cruise Line will fill the port with magic on the 20th, as the newest vessel in the fleet begins its inaugural season to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean; and Celebrity Cruises will christen the Celebrity Xcel at the port on November 16.

Furthermore, Royal Caribbean has announced that next year its third Icon-class ship, the Legend of the Seas, will have its homeport at Port Everglades in November 2026. With a capacity for more than 5,600 passengers, it will be the largest cruise ship ever to sail from the terminal.

The Port Authority expects to surpass its own passenger record with a preliminary figure of more than 4.7 million visitors during the 2025 fiscal year, which began on October 1, 2024.

Additionally, the port will soon inaugurate new infrastructure, such as the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, an expanded convention center, and an overpass that directly connects convention attendees from US 1 (Federal Highway) to the more than 111,500 square meter event space, also offering residents and tourists direct access to the beach.
