The Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí received a visit from James Ermarth, Political and Economic Counselor of the Consulate General of the United States in Brazil, in an agenda aimed at strengthening institutional relations and expanding international cooperation between the two countries.
The Executive Advisor of the Port of Itajaí, Thiago Morastoni, led the meeting representing Superintendent Artur Antunes Pereira, with the participation of the General Coordinator of Port Security Systems, Diogo Schmitt.
During the meeting, the main data and indicators of the Port of Itajaí were presented to the Counselor. In the first half of 2026, the port handled 1.2 million tons and, since the resumption of operations, has accumulated revenue of R$ 200 million.
After the meeting, the Counselor visited the port area and was able to closely observe the terminal’s operation.
For Executive Advisor Thiago Morastoni, the meeting reinforces the port’s strategic positioning on the international stage. “We presented the economic potential of our port activity and the relevance of the local economy, highlighting opportunities for partnership and development. This dialogue reinforces our commitment to modernization, transparency, and building an increasingly competitive environment for trade and investments,” he highlights.
The visit reinforces the Port of Itajaí’s commitment to strengthening international institutional relations and positioning the terminal as a reference for foreign partners and investors.
