The Santos Port Mutual Aid Plan (PAM), coordinated by the Santos Port Authority (APS), is promoting the workshop “Emergency with Ammonium Nitrate”.

The event features consultant Haroldo Martins as the speaker, one of the country’s leading specialists in combating emergencies involving this chemical product.

The workshop is aimed at professionals who work in emergencies at the Port, including those from APS, port terminals and operators, as well as intervening and emergency response agencies – such as the Fire Department, Civil Defense of the region’s municipalities, Cetesb, Ibama and Samu, among others.

Because it is a substance with explosive potential, its handling and storage require special and rigorous care, in compliance with Occupational Safety Standards, as well as the regulations of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).

“Conducting continuous training is essential to keep teams prepared and to ensure the operational safety of the Port, protecting workers, the surrounding community, and the environment,” explains the general coordinator of the Santos Port PAM, Evandro Lourenço, an Occupational Safety Technician at APS.

“With initiatives like this, the Port of Santos reinforces its commitment to maintaining safe, sustainable, and efficient operations, strengthening the integration between the different actors involved in the prevention and response to emergencies,” he states.
