The Port Authority of Rio was informed of a mechanical failure in the left main engine of the passenger-vehicle ferry (/G) ship “ANTONIOS M” N. Spetson 27 before its departure for the execution of a scheduled route on the Rio – Antirrio ferry line.
The A’ Port Department of Rio of the Central Port Authority of Patras prohibited the departure of “ANTONIOS M” until the repair of the damage and the submission of a seaworthiness certificate from the competent classification society, while its scheduled routes are to be executed by the remaining /G ships of the line.
