Norton Rose Fulbright senior consultant and a speaker at the inaugural Chemical & Product Tanker Conference in April 2022, Harry Theochari, has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Mr Theochari was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022 for services to the maritime industry, including as former chair of Maritime UK.
The OBE is awarded to individuals for having a major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.
In addition to his role as chair emeritus of Maritime UK, Mr Theochari is chair of Maritime London and sits on the Institute of Maritime Law Advisory Board of the University of Southampton.

Mr Theochari OBE is recognised by Tanker Shipping & Trade as one of the 50 most influential people in the tanker industry, was cited by Chambers Global 2022 as a senior statesperson for shipping finance and was named by Best Lawyers as a ’lawyer of the year’ 2021.
