Amadeus River Cruises christened its new river cruise ship, the Amadeus Aurea, at the Port of Amsterdam. With this new construction, the company continues its series of luxurious and technologically advanced ships.
The new river ship from Amadeus River Cruises will now set off on its maiden voyage. Built at the TeamCo shipyard, the Amadeus Aurea will primarily sail the Rhine and Danube rivers under the German flag.
The godmother, Kristie Keller, owner of Addicted to Adventures and closely linked to the Amadeus brand, proudly broke the traditional bottle of champagne against the bow of the new vessel. Following the festive ceremony and the blessing, the christening guests were able to explore the new ship for the first time during a harbor cruise.
At 135 meters in length, the Amadeus Aurea has capacity for 158 guests, and an intelligent hybrid propulsion system significantly reduces emissions, while solar energy, heat recovery, and state-of-the-art energy management on board ensure maximum efficiency. Specially designed glass surfaces contribute to a pleasant indoor climate.
For years, Amadeus River Cruises has renewed its premium fleet every spring. With the new ship, the travel company once again demonstrates, building on the innovations of the Amadeus Nova presented in 2024, what a modern and responsible river cruise can be.
“This ship is more than just a new build; it is a whole statement of intent. Our continuous series of innovative new builds is undoubtedly exceptional in the European market. The Aurea represents another great promise for the future of our sector,” stated Rendel Müller, Director of Marketing and Sales at Amadeus River Cruises, during the christening ceremony.
