The Port of Seville hosted for the first time in its history the double call of two high-end twin cruise ships from the Scenic company, the Eclipse I and the Eclipse II. These expedition vessels completed the docking operation next to the Cruise Terminal, which, since the beginning of 2026, has been managed by GPH and OPM.
Both cruise ships came from the Port of Tangier, in Morocco, spent a night in Seville, and departed for Portimão, the Scenic Eclipse I, and Marbella, the Scenic Eclipse II.
Around 350 passengers arrived on board, 187 on the Eclipse I and 154 on the Eclipse II, with countries of origin among which a greater presence of Australia, the United States and Canada stands out. Furthermore, these luxury cruise ships carry around 360 crew members.
“We are very satisfied with the choice of Seville by the Scenic company. The Muelle de las Delicias offers a unique image with the simultaneous docking of these two twin cruise ships, which confirms the confidence placed by the shipping company in the destination and in the model for cruise tourism that we offer,” highlighted Rafael Carmona, president of the Port Authority of Seville (APS).
According to the fleet captain, Erwan Le Rouzic, “it is a moment of pride and symbolism to see Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II together in Seville. It is a wonderful celebration of our journey and it is especially significant to share it in such a beautiful and historic destination. We are sincerely grateful to the Port of Seville for its extraordinary collaboration, support and generosity in hosting this event, and for helping us create a moment that will remain with our guests for many years.”
Scenic’s relationship with the Port of Seville began in April 2022 with the inaugural call of the Eclipse I. For its part, the Eclipse II made its call in April 2023. Since then, the Australian company has called at the Seville docks on seven occasions without missing a single year of its appointment with Seville.
For her part, the delegate of Tourism and Culture of the Seville City Council, Angie Moreno, highlighted that “this historic double call of the Scenic Eclipse I and II cruise ships confirms Seville’s positioning as an international reference destination for luxury and high-quality tourism.”
“From the Seville City Council we continue working hand in hand with the Port Authority and the tourism sector to attract a visitor profile that bets on excellence and generates a significant economic impact in the city,” Moreno concluded.
