El Puerto de Trieste, in Italy, was the venue for the naming ceremony of the Mein Schiff Flow, the new ship of the InTUItion series from TUI Cruises.
Amid the applause of thousands of guests on board, a bottle of champagne smashed against the bow, accompanied by an impressive spectacle and an elaborately prepared event, a christening that marked a milestone in several respects, because for the first time in the history of TUI Cruises, three women – Julia, Annabelle and Karin – were the godmothers of a new ship.
From the evening onwards, the Mein Schiff Flow dedicated itself entirely to its christening motto: Let yourself be carried by the current. The ship transformed into a vast world of experiences, full of inspiration, music and shared moments. Instead of a central space, guests were able to individually explore numerous festival areas.
“The christening of a new ship is always a very special moment, full of emotion, pride and anticipation. With the Mein Schiff Flow, we are expanding our fleet with a ship that represents a new way of traveling: characterized by lightness, connection and the feeling of traveling at your own pace. The fact that three godmothers share this journey with us for the first time makes this evening a powerful symbol of the diversity and closeness that our guests associate with the Mein Schiff fleet,” said Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises.
After its christening, the Mein Schiff Flow will begin its first season in the Mediterranean. For the winter season, it will sail towards northern Germany. With spacious common areas, new wellness spaces and the characteristic spaciousness of the InTUItion class, it complements its sister ship, the Mein Schiff Relax, and maintains consistency with the concept of the new generation of ships.
