SSA Marine Mexico reported that the Specialized Automobile Terminal (TEA) at the Port of Lázaro Cárdenas received the vessel BYD Shenzhen for the first time.
In this way, the ship became the fourth vessel from the shipping line BYD to be served at the TEA. During the operation, 7,590 vehicles were unloaded.
The BYD Shenzhen is one of the world’s largest Ro-Ro vessels, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a dual-fuel propulsion system, which drives a more sustainable operation.
The Specialized Automobile Terminal is a site with a total area of 48.82 hectares, a static capacity of 18,900 units and a dynamic capacity of over 620 thousand annually. The 600-meter-long dock has two berthing positions, 12 meters of depth and seven in the navigation channel, with the possibility of movements from PCC and PCTC type Ro-Ro vessels.
