Purus hires former BW LPG manager to handle operations

Purus, a gas carrier company, has hired Alan Delanoe as general manager of ship management and operations.

Within his new role, Delanoe, who has 20 years of offshore and onshore maritime experience, will focus on overseeing the technical and operational aspects of the company’s fleet.

He worked as a fleet supervision senior manager at BW LPG in Singapore, as well as marine operations manager at French energy major Total.

Purus has three /LPG medium gas carriers in its fleet, with four on order which are scheduled to be delivered over the next two years.

It also has three construction and service operation vessels for the offshore wind sector under construction.

The company has placed another order for a 98,000 cu m very large ethane carrier at Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea, taking the total contracted to three.

The vessel will deliver in 2027 directly into a long-term time charter, the company says.

It will feature dual-fuel ethane engines and optimized cargo handling systems, enabling lower CO2 and SOx emissions, while additional energy-saving devices will further contribute to cutting emissions.
