China News Service, Quanzhou, May 10 (Huang Wenxing) On the 10th, the Chinese vessel “Zhaoyuan,” loaded with 2,300 tons of propylene, slowly departed from Berth #5 of Zoumadian outside Douwei Port Area in Hui’an, Quanzhou, for export to South Korea. This marks the first export of propylene from Douwei Port Area, signifying a new breakthrough in the export of “Hui’an-produced” chemical products.
It is reported that Douwei Port Area is a key petrochemical industry hub on the southeast coast. It has built 15 open berths, including two 300,000-ton crude oil berths, serving as the supporting port for the Quanhui Petrochemical Industrial Park.
Propylene, as a star product of petroleum cracking, is the world’s second-largest basic olefin raw material. It is not only the main raw material for producing polypropylene but can also be synthesized into chemicals such as acrylonitrile, propylene oxide, isopropanol, phenol, and acetone. It is widely used in plastics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, new energy, and other fields, earning the title of “universal star” in petrochemicals.
The Xiaocuo Border Inspection Station, in conjunction with customs, the Douwei Port Station, and other port joint inspection departments, tailored a “one-ship, one-policy” customs clearance plan. They obtained information in advance on cargo collection points, vessel arrival and departure times, personnel on board, and work schedules, further optimizing the inspection process to ensure “zero-wait” operations upon arrival and “zero-delay” clearance upon departure. This minimizes vessel port time, reduces enterprise operating costs, and enhances product competitiveness.
