The shipping company Ellerman City Liniers will start a new service that directly connects the Port of Szczecin (Poland) with the Port of Hull (United Kingdom). The service called Poland-UK Express will operate weekly and will arrive at the container terminal of the aforementioned English maritime station.
According to information provided by Associated British Ports (ABP), the operator of the facility, the service will offer “fast and reliable transit times, and provides shippers with a route efficient in time, cost and emissions towards the north of England”.
Furthermore, it was added that “the Poland–UK Express service complements the weekly call that Ellerman already makes with Viasea at the port of Immingham. Ellerman acquired Viasea, the Norwegian short sea shipping operator, in November 2025”.
“The new service creates additional transshipment opportunities and expands the connections of the Humber estuary with northern Europe and global markets”, it was stated in the letter.
In this regard, Peter Andrews, commercial director of Ellerman City Liniers, stated that “moving the UK call to Hull represents a clear advantage for both British importers and Polish exporters. It brings cargo closer to the main distribution corridors, reducing land journeys and improving planning predictability”, the executive concluded.
