LIVORNO – A consultation seminar on the issues of port resilience and sustainability, launched by the Northern Tyrrhenian Sea Port System Authority to public and private stakeholders, scheduled for Tuesday, November 25 starting at 2:30 PM in Livorno at the Sala Ferretti of the Fortezza Vecchia.
A meeting of a mainly operational nature, with question and answer sessions, through which the port authority engages with the maritime cluster in the process of drafting the 2025 Sustainability Report and the Climate Resilience Plan provided for by the financing contract signed with the European Investment Bank for the construction of the Darsena Europa in 2024. This is a strategic document that analyzes adaptation measures and mitigation of vulnerabilities to climate change.
Regarding the Sustainability Report, stakeholders will be consulted directly during the seminar, and the impacts that the activities of the AdSP and ports in general have externally and on the territory will be analyzed with them. Analyzing the consequences of environmental, social and organizational dynamics on the finances of the AdSP and on the port economy as a whole.
In the first part of the seminar, an overview of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) themes is planned – three factors used to measure sustainability and social impact, in addition to its financial performance. ESG themes traced by the consulting firm TIM10 srl, coordinated by university professor Giovanni Satta.
The second part of the seminar is preparatory to the drafting of the Resilience Plan and constitutes a first systematic reflection on the exposure of port infrastructures to adverse climate events, such as floods, heat waves, and rising sea levels.
Port companies, trade unions, local institutions, trade associations, the Port Authority and the Technical-Nautical Services will participate in the event.
