More than 40 ships, cutters, andsubmarines took part inthe parade
On 31 July 2022, Russia’s Navy Day, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin reviewed theMain Naval Parade held inSt Petersburg andKronstadt, according to the Kremlin’s official website.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief, accompanied byDefence MinisterSergei Shoigu, Commander-in-Chief oftheNavy Nikolai Yevmenov andActing Commander oftheWestern Military District Vladimir Kochetkov, sailed aboard thenaval cutter Raptor togreet thecrews ofthebattleshipPoltava, thesmall missile shipVeliky Ustyug, thecorvetteMerkury, thefrigateAdmiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Gorshkovandthediesel-electric submarineSankt Peterburg.
Inaddition tothis, earlier intheday, Vladimir Putin made therounds ofaparade line ofmilitary ships intheGulf ofFinland andtheKronstadt Yard, saluted crews andcongratulated them onNavy Day from thedeck ofthenaval cutter Raptor.
More than 40 ships, cutters, andsubmarines, aswell as42 aircraft andmore than 3,500 troops took part inRussia’s Main Naval Parade in2022.
Thevessels that took part intheparade ontheNeva included thecounterterror boatsP-468,Vladimir NosovandNakhimovets, thelanding boatsIvan PaskoandD-67, Raptor-class patrol boats, thebase minesweeperPavel Khenovandtheocean minesweeperAleksandr Obukhov, themissile boatChuvashiya, theguided missile corvettesZelyony DolandOdintsovo, andthepatrol boats ofMangust, M14 andMarlin 900 classes.
Taking part intheparade inKronstadt were themissile cruiserDimitrovgrad, theguided missile corvettesPassatandSovetsk, thesmall anti-submarine shipsUrengoyandKazanets, thecorvettesStoikyandSoobrazitelny, thepatrol boatYaroslav Mudry, thecoast guard vesselLadoga, thetraining shipPerekopandthediesel-electric submarineMagadan.
Thenaval aircraft group taking part intheparade inSt Petersburg included Mi-8, Ka-31 andKa-27 helicopters, An-72, Be-200, Il-38, Tu-154, Tu-134, Tu-142MK andSu-24 planes, andSu-27, MiG-29 andMiG-31 fighter jets.
Theparade concluded with amarch past ofceremonial naval regiments andcadets oftheKronstadt Naval Cadet Corps andtheNakhimov Naval School, aswell assea boys oftheYunarmy Movement.

The documents set theboundaries andareas ofRussia’s national interests
Before thebeginning ofthecentral part oftheMain Naval Parade in Saint-Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed theExecutive OrderOnApproving theNaval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation, andtheExecutive OrderOnApproving theRussian Navy Regulations, according to the Kremlin’s official website.
Theceremony was held attheSt Petersburg State History Museum intheSt Peter andPaul Fortress.
Under theExecutive Order, theNaval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation, which thePresident approved inExecutive Order No. Pr-1210 dated June17, 2015, is declared tobe no longer inforce.
When speaking at the Main Naval Parade, Vladimir Putin emphasized the new Naval Doctrine oftheRussian Federation set theboundaries andareas ofRussia’s national interests– economic, vital andstrategic– clearly andtransparently.
“First andforemost, these are our waters oftheArctic, theBlack Sea, theSea ofOkhotsk,theBering Sea, andtheBaltic andKuril Straits. We will ensure their protection rigorously andusing all available tools. Andhere thecapabilities oftheRussian Navy are paramount. It is capable ofinstantly responding toall those who decide toimpinge onour sovereignty andfreedom, successfully carrying out itsstrategic missions ontheborders ofour country andonany latitude oftheWorld Ocean with dignity. Its coastal, surface, air, andunderwater forces andother meansare highly prepared fordecisive action. They are constantly being improved,” said the President.
