Safe Bulkers Management and Safety Management Overseas, the managers of the Safe Bulkers fleet, have signed a new cooperation agreement with Ocean Technologies Group (OTG) with the aim of assisting their pool of seafarers with their learning and assessment needs.
Safe Bulkers, a provider of marine dry-bulk transportation services, will initially implement the Ocean Learning Platform (OLP) from OTG on a pilot basis before gradually introducing it to the entire fleet.
The OLP will provide interactive maritime learning access from OTG’s Seagull, Videotel, Marlins and MTS training brands, as well as offering new tools for competence management and crew assessment.
The system will build and schedule Safe Bulkers’ manager seafarer training matrices and provide digital performance appraisals and reporting tools to assist in evaluating results, so that specific needs can be identified, and continuous improvement is supported.
