Bulk carrier MATROS POZYNICH, owned by sister company of sanctioned Joint Shipbuilding Corporation, Russia, loaded 27,000 tons of grain at Kerch Strait anchorage, Black sea, in April 2022, left anchorage late April and initially, headed for Alexandria Egypt. Ukraine protested and asked Egypt not to accept the ship and the cargo, because all of grain lot was reportedly, taken from occupied Ukrainian territories and transported via Crimea. Understood Egypt met Ukrainian protest and rejected cargo, on May 3 ship’s destination was changed, Beirut Lebanon instead of Alexandria. Ukraine already contacted Lebanon and Syria, asking them to follow the example set by Egypt. As of morning May 5, MATROS POZYNICH was sailing in eastern Med between Cyprus and Turkey, with Beirut as port of destination and ETA May 6.
