On the morning of November 28, 2025, a grand naming and delivery ceremony was held at the company’s dock for the “SEABOARD VENTURE,” a 3500TEU dual-fuel (LNG+MGO) container ship built by Sanfu Shipbuilding for an American shipowner. Representatives from the shipowner, DNV classification society, Hengfeng Bank, and Sanfu Shipbuilding attended the naming ceremony to witness this historic moment together.
This series of 3500TEU dual-fuel container ships was designed by the German company HB HUNTE, featuring a forecastle design. The primary fuels for this vessel are high-pressure LNG (natural gas) and MGO (diesel oil). It utilizes vertical natural gas storage tanks, which are the largest vertical gas tanks installed on a ship to date. The vessel can carry over 1,000 refrigerated containers and is equipped with a remote refrigeration monitoring system. The ship’s EEDI index meets and exceeds current industry standards, with its environmental performance far surpassing that of its peers.
At the naming ceremony, Yang Yifeng, Chairman of Sanfu Shipbuilding, delivered a speech, expressing sincere gratitude to the shipowner, DNV, Hengfeng Bank, and all partners: “The successful delivery of this series of ships embodies the firm trust of the shipowner, the strong support of our partners, and the hard work of all employees. Sanfu Shipbuilding will take this opportunity to continuously increase R&D investment and fully advance the construction of the newly ordered follow-up 3500TEU dual-fuel container ships. Driven by technological innovation, we are committed to providing global customers with more efficient and environmentally friendly green shipping solutions, jointly promoting the sustainable development of the industry.
