Sanmar Denizcilik delivered its ninth tug to P&O Maritime Logistics, a global maritime services provider, further strengthening a successful partnership that began over a decade ago with another tug.
The relationship between the two companies dates back to 2013 when P&O took delivery of its first tug from Sanmar. Since then, Sanmar has delivered eight more tugs, which have been successfully serving in ports worldwide.
Named AL FATH by its new owners, the tug is based on the Ramparts 2200 design developed by Robert Allan Ltd. AL FATH is a member of the Sırapınar Series, acting as the compact siblings of Sanmar’s best-selling Boğacay Series tugs.
With a length of 22.4 m, a beam of 10.84 m, a depth of 4.4 m, and an approximate draft of 4.89 m, AL FATH has a bollard pull of 50 tonnes and can reach a speed of 12 knots.
P&O Maritime Logistics provides services in the energy, oil and gas, renewable energy, and port sectors. Sanmar-built tugs are currently operating in 5 countries on behalf of the company: Mozambique, Somalia, the Dominican Republic, Senegal, and the UAE.
The most recent deliveries prior to AL FATH consisted of the 80-tonne Rastar 2900SX design-based P&O GYANDE and its sister tug P&O ASIA.
