The latest tugboat from Sanmar Shipyards, built for Ultratug, successfully completed a comprehensive sea trial program in Tuzla, Turkey.
Known during its construction as Bogaçay LXXIX, the tugboat is based on the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design by Canadian naval architects Robert Allan, an exclusive Sanmar model. Compact yet powerful, its design has been adapted to meet Ultratug’s demanding operational needs.
The test results were witnessed by representatives from Ultratug, Sanmar, and the classification and quality teams, highlighting its importance as a milestone for both companies. With a molded breadth of 12 meters, a length of 24.4, a molded depth of 4.5 meters, and a navigational draft of 5.45, the tugboat demonstrated excellent stability and maneuverability.
Rüçhan Çivgin, Sanmar’s Commercial Director, stated that “the completion of these sea trials is a significant milestone in our collaboration with Ultratug. We are confident it will provide reliable service and contribute to Ultratug’s sustainability goals. At Sanmar, our mission is to deliver efficient, safe, future-ready, and environmentally responsible vessels: qualities that define every Sanmar vessel.”
Following the completion of the trials, the vessel will move to final delivery preparations before joining the Ultratug fleet, where it will provide safe, powerful, and environmentally friendly support in harbor operations.
