Ultra-Luxury Discovery Yacht,Scenic Eclipse, will star in two episodes of ‘Cruising with Susan Calman’ as she discovers the most remote region on earth, Antarctica. The episodes will air at 8 pm on Friday, 9th and 16th February on the British television network Channel 5.
Reaching a regular audience of 1 million, viewers will see Susan Calman, comedian, writer, and presenter, sail the Antarctic peninsula on boardScenic Eclipse, The World’s First Discovery Yacht™. In April 2023, Scenic launched its second yacht,Scenic Eclipse II.
Sailing from Ushuaia on Scenic’s most popular expedition voyage, Susan will sail the Drake Passage before reaching the polar south and stepping foot onto the pristine ice and completing the ‘Polar Plunge’, an exhilarating dip into the icy waters. Viewers can enjoy seeing Susan and guests take a helicopter flight to witness the stunning glacial landscapes from above, a submersible dive on board the custom-built Scenic Neptune, and kayaking in pristine waters. Wildlife spotting is a true highlight of Susan’s 13-day voyage with orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, chinstrap penguins & gentoo penguins all making an appearance.

Susan will join excursions led by the Scenic expert Discovery Team, comprising naturalists, marine biologists, and glaciologists, with unrivalled access to the region’s most remarkable landing sites. On the expedition voyage, Susan stepped ashore and visited the remarkable ‘End of the WorldPost Office’, which sits in the heart of Tierra del Fuego National Park, at the southernmost tip of Argentina and seven miles outside of Ushuaia.
After a day of exploring, guests can dine at the Chef’s Table, drink speciality whiskey in the Whiskey Bar and discuss the dazzling beauty of Deception Island with the Captain on the bridge. Between landings, guests can also continue to top up their wildlife knowledge during enriching presentations and discussions in the impressive theatre and dedicated observation deck.

With just 200 guests in Antarctica (228 in other destinations) and an almost 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio and private butler service, both Discovery Yachts ensure an extraordinary level of personalised service for each guest.
Nichola Absalom, managing director of sales & marketing at Scenic UK, said: “Ahead of our biggest ever Antarctica season, we’re thrilled to have Susan on board to experience our ultra-luxury expedition voyage.
