Torsten Holst Pedersen

CMA CGM Group recently announced the appointment of Torsten Holst Pedersen as Senior Vice President of its ship management subsidiary CMA Ships, effective July 1, 2026.

Torsten Holst Pedersen is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Seaspan, the world’s largest container ship owner.

It is understood that CMA Ships, one of the key subsidiaries of CMA CGM Group, was established on January 1, 2008. It currently manages a fleet of over 350 vessels and is also dedicated to cultivating the next generation of maritime talent.

CMA CGM stated that it is continuously increasing its investment in its owned fleet and vessel operations capabilities, and the addition of Torsten Holst Pedersen will support the future development of the CMA CGM fleet.

According to public information, Torsten Holst Pedersen holds a master’s degree in International Economics and has over 20 years of work experience in the shipping, logistics, and other fields.

He has previously worked at companies such as Maersk and ship management giant V Group. In addition, he has also worked in strategic consulting, helping multiple companies implement strategic plans in the Middle East and South Asia, and handling merger and acquisition-related matters.

From November 2018 to May 2020, Torsten Holst Pedersen served as Executive Vice President of Seaspan’s ship management division, and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Seaspan in June 2020.
