Seaspan Corporation (Seaspan), a subsidiary of asset management company Atlas, has taken delivery of two 8,500 TEU scrubber-fitted container ships on a “long-term charter with a global liner”.

Seaspan is a leading independent owner and operator of container ships. Itcharters its vessels primarily on long-term, fixed-rate time charters to the world’s largest container shipping liners.
By31 March 2021, Seaspan’s fleet consisted of 127 containerships representing total capacity of approximately 1,073,200 TEU.
In April 2021, it signed an agreement an agreement for six 15,500 TEU newbuild container ships, with anticipated delivery beginning in 2023 and extending into the middle of 2024.
