On September 10, the 35-ton railway open-top box sea-rail intermodal transport “one-box system” liner carrying 512TEU Shanxi coke made its maiden voyage at Rizhao Port, Shandong port, and sailed to Zhangzhou, Fujian. This is a key step in the innovation of Shandong Port to create a 35-ton railway open-top container sea-rail intermodal transport “one box to the end” business model, promoting the “one box system” transportation field of multimodal transport, and opening up a more efficient and convenient new channel for the transportation of bulk goods such as coke.
In recent years, national ministries and commissions have repeatedly issued work plans on promoting the development of multimodal transport, optimizing and adjusting the transportation structure, strengthening the “public to rail” and “public to water” of bulk materials, and accelerating the development of “one single system” and “one box system” of multimodal transport. However, in the field of traditional coke transportation, due to the different dimensions of sea and land transportation of 35-ton railway boxes, there are problems such as serious dust pollution, high coke damage rate, and excessive moisture at the factory during the cargo transshipment process.
In response to this situation, Shandong Port deeply grasps the strategic requirements of national transportation structure adjustment and optimization and green and low-carbon development, and joins hands with the government, railways, coke and steel production enterprises to create a “Shanxi-Rizhao-Zhangzhou” sea-rail intermodal transport “one-box” transportation channel, transform and complete the country’s first 35-ton railway open-top box special transport ship, equipped with 500 box positions, and truly realize the 35-ton railway open-top box original box on the ship and the whole ship transportation, without changing or opening the box throughout the process, effectively reducing the cargo damage rate and logistics costs. Achieve green and efficient transportation.
It is understood that after the batch of coke was loaded into a 35-ton railway open-top box in Taiyuan, Shanxi, it went directly to Rizhao Port in Shandong Port through the railway, and the open-top box was directly hoisted onto the ship at the port, and then sent to the destination Zhangzhou, Fujian Province by sea.
In the future, Shandong Port will continue to promote the development of the “one-box system” business of 35-ton railway open-top container sea-rail intermodal transport to the field of bulk cargo such as kaolin and phylloxite, create an integrated logistics service system with multiple sources and types, and provide a replicable and generalizable “mountain port plan” for the optimization of the national transportation structure.
