Two new offshore cranes, fully assembled, were loaded at the Port of Shanghai onto the Zhen Hua 25, which, after a rigorous safety inspection, set sail on a long voyage to the Port of Rijeka in Croatia, sailing around Africa.

The route is approximately 11,000 nautical miles long and is expected to last between 35 and 40 days. Their arrival in Rijeka is scheduled for mid-November. Upon arrival, they will be unloaded, tested, and put into operation, with the goal of being fully operational by the end of the year.

The cranes were manufactured by ZPMC and are the latest generation of Super Post Panamax units, specially designed to meet the requirements of AGCT (Adriatic Gate Container Terminal) with an optimized landside load. These cranes will enable the port to handle the largest container ships sailing the world’s seas.

The new shoreside cranes represent only the first part of the modernization of the Croatian terminal’s equipment. In October, the delivery of two new RTG cranes for container handling in the storage area is expected, whose particularity lies in their hybrid propulsion, which will save fuel and contribute to environmental protection by reducing emissions.
