The Turkish shipping line Sidra Line is in the process of reorganizing its services connecting Turkey with North Africa. This restructuring includes the launch of a new loop between Turkey, Egypt, and Algeria, as well as a shortened itinerary on its link between Turkey and Libya.
“With the departure of the 700 TEU vessel Xing Shun 25 on December 6 from El Dekheila (Alexandria), Sidra will launch its new Turkey-Egypt-Algeria service, called TEA,” Alphaliner said.
“The loop will have a 20-day rotation and will use 2 vessels of between 300 and 700 TEU, with calls at El Dekheila, Port Said (1 in every 2 voyages), Latakia, Iskenderun, Benghazi (1/2), Misurata, Rades (1/2), Algiers, Skikda (1/2) and back to El Dekheila,” it added.
The Istanbul-based shipping line will also remove calls at Alexandria, Latakia, and Iskenderun from the rotation of its Turkey-North Africa (TNX) service by the end of this month.
“At the same time, the sailing frequency will change from weekly to fortnightly, as the carrier will continue to operate the TNX service with a single vessel, the 832 TEU Tian Fu 2,” the consultancy firm noted.
“With the departure of the Tian Fu 2 from Derince on November 21, Sidra’s TNX service will have a two-week rotation (one less than before), with calls at Derince, Istanbul (Ambarli), Misurata, Benghasi and back to Derince,” it concluded.
