Shandong Port Group (SPG), whichis currently the world’s largest port operator, launched the bonded oil bunkering business at Weihai Port on Sept 17, showcasing that SPG has made great achievements in expanding its business scope, and promoting the integrated development among its ports.
Weihai Port has great potential for the development of bonded oil bunkering services, because it has opened a number of international shippingroutes.
In recent years, with the increase of ship operating costs, more and more shipping companies hoped that Weihai Port can start the bonded oil bunkering services to reduce operating costs.
Weihai Port responded actively to its customers’ requestsand launched the bonded oil bunkering services. With the support of local government departments, the port opened green channels for the bonded oil businessto improveoperating efficiency.
Since January, SPG hasacceleratedthe integrated development of port construction and container businesses among its ports. The launch of the new business is expected to further improve the comprehensive services atWeihai Port, and help promote Weihai to transform into a strong marine city, as well as contribute to SPG’s transformationinto a world-class seaportoperator.
