Cape Canaveral – The Star of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s new 248,633-ton flagship and currently the world’s largest cruise ship, has docked at Port Canaveral.
The christening ceremony was celebrated by music icon Diana Ross, ahead of a series of inaugural mini-cruises. Subsequently, the ship will set sail for alternating weekly itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with a fixed stop at the private island Perfect Day at CoCo Cay.
Built at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the Star is the second vessel in the Icon class, following the Icon of the Seas, which entered service in 2024. Onboard, over 2,800 cabins, 40 restaurants and lounges, and attractions like the largest water park ever built at sea, an ice skating rink, laser tag, escape rooms, and play areas for all ages.
The Icon class will continue with the Legend of the Seas in 2026 and a third yet-to-be-named ship scheduled for 2027.
