Eleven meetings scheduled for July
Today, the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority initiated a series of informal consultations on the preliminary proposal for the new Port Regulatory Plan (PRP) of Ancona. This proposal incorporates the objectives outlined in the Strategic Programming Document of the port system for the Dorico port.
Eleven meetings are planned for the month of July at the port authority’s headquarters to gather feedback and contributions on the port planning document, while the strategic environmental assessment phase continues at the MASE—Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security.
The AdSP chose to organize these discussions, which represent an additional opportunity for interaction with stakeholders beyond those already required by law, to arrive at the definition of a PRP that is as widely shared as possible. The meetings, attended by the port authority’s leadership, the technical directorate, and the professionals tasked with drafting the PRP, have invited representatives from the maritime cluster, institutions, law enforcement and military agencies, trade unions, professional associations, and environmental and cultural organizations.
“It is our duty,” explained AdSP President Vincenzo Garofalo during the first meeting, which involved businesses, concessionaires, shipping agents, and freight forwarders, “to plan, through the PRP, what the port of the future will be. A challenging commitment because it requires us to forecast traffic trends for the coming years in relation to the strategic choices of national port policy, geopolitics, and international economic dynamics—just as port operators themselves continually do. For this reason, we are interested in hearing the contributions of those who experience the port firsthand, to build a development tool that is as shared as possible and suited to the needs of the maritime cluster, institutions, and stakeholders. Of course, as the AdSP, we will synthesize the outcomes of these meetings.
