According to the maritime security company Diaplous, transits continue to take place both via the southern route, under the coordination of the Omani authorities, and via the northern route, which operates under the approval of the Iranian authorities, albeit at a slightly reduced pace compared to previous days.
According to data from Lloyd’s List Intelligence, at least 26 vessels over 10,000 dwt transited with their automatic identification system (AIS) activated via the southern route from 14:10 on June 25, when the attack on the “Ever Lovely” occurred, until 12:00 on June 26, excluding vessels that were already underway at the time of the incident.
Additionally, eleven vessels used the northern route, which operates under the approval of the Iranian authorities.
A US official told international media that operations against Iranian targets have been completed, clarifying that “this is not a return to large-scale combat operations, at least for now.”
At the same time, there has been no official reaction from the Iranian side regarding the US strikes, beyond limited references in announcements by the US military authorities.
Nevertheless, the coordinated evacuation and traffic management plan developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) remains suspended, following the attack on the vessel “Ever Lovely” on the afternoon of June 25.
