Sustainable solutions to be showcased at Scottish Skipper Expo 2024

Must read

Leading dealer of marine power solutions, Finning UK & Ireland will showcase its breadth of expertise in marine power applications, focusing on helping customers adopt sustainable solutions, at the upcoming Scottish Skipper Expo.

The event, taking place on the 9th and 10th of May 2024 at the P&J Live Exhibition Arena in Aberdeen, sees Finning highlight the latest Cat marine solutions, including the popular Cat C32 marine propulsion engine and a look at their technical support capabilities.

A key focus for Finning will be helping customers understand the sustainable solutions available to maintain asset performance, such as overhauling engines to give them a new lease of life. Finning will also help visitors navigate the latest IMO III emissions regulations.

Gordon Dalrymple said: “We understand the challenges our customers face in balancing cost, performance, reliability and sustainability. Our goal is to provide guidance and support to help them find the best solutions for their specific needs, whether that’s investing in new equipment or opting for the sustainable choice of overhauling their existing engines.”

Finning has developed a range of overhaul options tailored to different maintenance intervals. These options include a complete Cat Certified engine rebuild, top-end overhauls and cost-effective alternatives that focus on utilising Cat remanufactured parts.

Gordon Dalrymple added, “By choosing to overhaul an existing engine, vessel owners can extend its lifespan across multiple lifecycles, with the process taking anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Depending on the engine model, an overhauled engine can operate for another 20,000 hours before requiring further major maintenance, making it an attractive option for many.”

A highlight of the Finning stand will be the display of the Cat C32 marine propulsion engine, which is available with ratings that meet IMO II emissions regulations and the option to be equipped to meet IMO III standards when paired with SCR exhaust after treatment.
