Global towage and marine solutions provider Svitzer Group A/S has acquired a 66.6% stake in Norwegian towage and marine service company Buksér og Berging AS, pending final regulatory approvals. The investment establishes a partnership intended to draw on both companies’ experience in towage, offshore, and related maritime service markets.
Buksér og Berging will continue to operate independently under its existing brand, management, values, and strategy. The company’s CEO, Vetle J. Sverdrup, will retain a 33.4% shareholding and remain in his position.
Svitzer is a Danish limited liability company headquartered in Copenhagen and a global provider of towage and marine services. It operates over 450 vessels across more than 30 countries and is part of A.P. Moller–Maersk Group, one of the world’s largest transport and logistics conglomerates.
Buksér og Berging is a privately held Norwegian company headquartered in Oslo. It provides marine services including harbor towage, offshore operations, and specialized vessel support across Norway’s ports and coastal regions. Buksér og Berging operates a fleet of approximately 35 tugs, 25 pilot boats, three ambulance vessels, and one service vessel for salmon farming. Its headquarters are in Oslo, with branch offices in Stavanger and Fedje, near Bergen.
