Recently, with the successful rail landing of the last 50-ton gantry crane at the No. 3 Ore Berth of Jingtang Port Area, Tangshan Port, Hebei Port Group, all nine newly purchased 50-ton gantry cranes by Tanggang Co., Ltd. have been hoisted ashore. After installation and commissioning, they will officially join the “production lineup,” adding an annual operational capacity of 2.81 million tons, effectively enhancing the bulk cargo handling capacity of Jingtang Port Area and injecting new momentum into improving production quality and efficiency.

This marks the largest single delivery of new gantry cranes to Tanggang Co., Ltd. in recent years. The nine new gantry cranes are primarily used for loading and unloading bulk cargo such as ore and coke, making them unequivocal “steel warriors.” With a maximum operating radius of 45 meters and a maximum lifting capacity of 50 tons, the new gantry cranes are equipped with intelligent operation support systems including a Remote Management System (RCMS), video monitoring system, intelligent lubrication, equipment collision avoidance, automatic anchoring, and automatic fire detection and suppression. These systems will play a crucial supporting role in equipment status control, safe operation, and maintenance. Additionally, they are fitted with upgraded lightweight grabs, offering advantages in energy saving, consumption reduction, and refined operation and maintenance.

In recent years, the throughput of Jingtang Port Area, Tangshan Port has steadily increased. To accommodate larger vessels and enhance operational efficiency, Tanggang Co., Ltd. has continuously updated its handling equipment. Since 2025, Tanggang Co., Ltd. has successively added 18 gantry cranes, cumulatively increasing berth passing capacity by 7.85 million tons, bringing the total number of gantry cranes to 108. After the new equipment is put into use, terminal handling and operational efficiency have significantly improved. Leveraging the upgrade of equipment and supporting facilities, Tanggang Co., Ltd.’s throughput has shown positive trends in the first five months of this year, with operational efficiency increasing by 1.5% year-on-year, supporting regional economic development.

“In the next step, we will diligently carry out the installation and commissioning of the new gantry cranes, striving to put the equipment into operation as soon as possible and form handling capacity at an early date, laying a solid foundation for achieving the ‘double过半’ target tasks,” said Yu Chuanhe, Director of the Technical Information Department of Tanggang Co., Ltd.
