The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is participating in the meeting convened by the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO) in which more than 25 managers from maritime hubs are meeting with the aim of advancing the definition of the future European port strategy and agreeing on contributions that will be raised to the European Commission. During the course of the meeting, the current status of the European Ports Strategy and the role the Commission will have in its development are being discussed. Another key point will be the debate on the European Union’s budgetary proposals, with the aim of preparing a joint position that effectively represents European ports.
“A key opportunity to contribute our vision on issues that will shape the future of community port policy. Contributing to this debate means defending the interests of our ports, ensuring that we are aligned with the challenges of competitiveness, sustainability and resilience faced by the entire European port system,” stated the Deputy Director of the Port Authority of Tenerife, Airam Díaz. Puertos de Tenerife reinforces its role as an active interlocutor in the European port arena and in the definition of decisions that will shape the future of the sector.
