The Port of San Antonio, through the activity of its concession terminals, transferred 1,474,958 TEU from January to September 2025, or 163,501 more TEUs, consolidating a 12% increase compared to the same time frame last year.
According to figures provided by the San Antonio Port Company (EPSA), the total cargo moved in nine months of 2025 reached 17,212,844 tons, representing a 3% increase compared to the 16,755,230 tons recorded in 2024.
“This past September also recorded the largest increase of the current year in total cargo moved, with 1,914,052 tons and a 14% increase compared to the same month in 2024,” reported the state-owned port authority of San Antonio.
By the ninth month of the year, the mobilized containerized cargo reached 13,150,737 tons, that is, it was 4% higher than that recorded in the same time frame last year, while breakbulk cargo continues to show positive results with a growth of 30%, increasing from 314,284 to 408,226 tons.
Likewise, the vehicle unloading segment has already reached 200,897 units transferred by September, recording an accumulated annual increase of 20%.
Finally, liquid bulk recorded a 3% increase, going from 689,317 to 713,202 tons, while solid bulk had a 5% decrease, going from 3,099,270 to 2,940,679 tons.
The general manager of Puerto San Antonio, Ramón Castañeda, commented that “these figures represent a positive signal regarding the port’s level of efficiency and how the new shipping services that have been added this year contribute to achieving a sustained increase in the amount of cargo movements.”
“Furthermore, the results obtained reflect the commitment of all actors in the logistics chain to generate increasingly productive operational processes, always maintaining the safety of port workers as a priority,” he concluded.
