The board of directors of Las Palmas has agreed to the administrative eviction and removal of the four businesses that continue to operate today in the Sotavento Shopping Center, located at the sports dock of Las Palmas. Specifically, these are the establishments Allende Restauración S.L, Canarias Óptima Profesional S.L, Fifo Diving S.L, and Escuela de Hostelería Europea S.L, all tenants of Explotaciones Sotavento S.L. It should be noted that this consortium has been occupying and exploiting the public port domain of the sports dock without a valid permit since July 31, 2023. As of August 2024, it had accumulated a debt of 463,346.36 euros.

The Port Authority notified Explotaciones Sotavento S.L of the eviction order with a warning of administrative eviction, which was ignored. Subsequently, the Port Authority demanded that the tenants of Explotaciones Sotavento S.L who continued their operations cease their activities and vacate the premises they occupied. However, this did not occur, and under these circumstances, the Port Authority will seek judicial authorization to proceed with the forced eviction of the four establishments that continue to operate.

The board of directors has also agreed to the administrative eviction of 14 houseboats whose appeals had already been dismissed and/or denied. From now on, judicial authorization will be requested to enter the residences and recover the mooring spots that these vessels have been occupying without a valid permit. Additionally, the request to renew the mooring permits for six other houseboats has been rejected.
