On July 15, 2025, at 10:08 AM, as the ignition command was issued, the machinery roared to life at Huazi Energy’s Qidong facility, marking the grand commencement ceremony for the LNG fuel tank project (2×3000m³) of a 210,000 DWT bulk carrier.
This moment not only signifies Huazi Energy’s new chapter in the manufacturing of large-scale LNG fuel tanks but also holds extraordinary significance with the presence of representatives from Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), the shipowner. As a key player in the global shipping industry’s green transition, MOL’s active participation vividly demonstrates Huazi Energy’s relentless innovation and breakthroughs in LNG fuel tank technology R&D and manufacturing.
A representative from MOL stated: “As a long-term strategic partner, Huazi Energy’s profound technical expertise and near-rigorous standardized production processes in liquid tank manufacturing have always been the cornerstone of our deepening collaboration. From early-stage technical feasibility studies to supply chain system development, the professionalism and execution capabilities demonstrated by the Huazi team are truly impressive. The commencement of this project is not only a new milestone in our partnership but also fills us with confidence in the successful delivery of the green power system for the 210,000 DWT bulk carrier. We believe that Huazi’s mature experience in LNG fuel tanks will provide safe and reliable energy solutions for vessel operations, jointly delivering outstanding results for the shipping industry’s low-carbon transformation.”
Following the project’s launch, the construction of two additional fuel tanks in the same series will commence within the year. In the future, as more vessels equipped with Huazi-built LNG fuel tanks set sail, they will undoubtedly safeguard the blue oceans with greater cleanliness, power global trade with sustainable energy, and turn the vision of green shipping into reality—steering toward an even brighter tomorrow.
