An important milestone in its fleet expansion course was recently marked by Norwegian Car Carriers (NOCC), with the group celebrating the “christening” of another newly built vessel.
More specifically, it concerns the PCTC “NOCC Pacific”, with a transport capacity of 7,000 CEUs, which was built at the CIMC Raffles shipyards. This vessel is the first PCTC built by CIMC Raffles for the Norwegian company, marking a significant milestone in the cooperation between the two parties, as mentioned in the shipyard’s announcement. The vessel is equipped with two Type C LNG storage tanks, as well as dual-fuel main and auxiliary engines, which allow for zero emissions during port operations. It has received the DNV “Ammonia-ready” certification.

Regarding its technical characteristics, the newbuilding has an overall length of 199.9 m, a beam of 38 m, a draft of 8.6 m, and a service speed of 19 knots.
It is worth noting that the IMO has requested classification societies to develop specific safety standards amidst the energy transition, which will come into force from January 2026. In this context, the ship’s design proactively incorporates compliance with the “EV” (electric vehicle) notation in the classification symbols, making it the first PCTC in the world to meet this new standard.

In fact, the vessel is the fifteenth PCTC delivered by the CIMC Raffles group and the seventh to be built at the Longkou shipyards in 2025.
