In a climate of festive atmosphere, a few hours after the start of this year’s educational year and the symbolic celebration of 100 years since the founding of the Kardamyla Livaneio Gymnasium, the G. S. Livanos family and their collaborators from the companies Sun Enterprises and S. Livanos Hellas, invited their Chian sailors to an established event of honor.
More specifically, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Chandris hotel, an event took place which aimed to honor the Chian sailors of the Group, and their families.
Present, as is customary, were Mr. Georgios S. Livanos and Mr. Stavros G. Livanos, accompanied by their wives, Mrs. Lita Livanou and Mrs. Mariela Livanou, who welcomed the guests.
Also present at the honorary dinner were numerous representatives of the local government and the authorities of Chios. Among others, in attendance were, His Eminence the Metropolitan of Chios, Psara & Oinousses Mr. Markos, the Members of Parliament for Chios, Mr. Notis Mitarakis and Mr. Stavros G. Michailidis, the Mayor of Chios, Mr. Ioannis Malafis, the Mayor of Oinousses, Mr. Georgios Daniil, the Commander of the Chios Naval Cadets Academy, Lieutenant Commander Stylianos Siarbas and the Commander of the Oinousses Naval Cadets Academy, Lieutenant Commander Dimitris Kloumasis, Prof. Serafeim Kapros, President of the Department of Shipping and Business Services of the University of the Aegean as well as educators and professors from both the Chios and Oinousses Naval Cadets Academies and from the University of the Aegean. On behalf of the group’s companies, Mr. Georgios Frangos, Chief Executive Officer of Sun Enterprises Ltd., Mr. Vasileios Peponis, Director of Technical and Operational Operations, Capt. Efstratios Tsoukaris, Crewing Director, and several other executives of the group were present.
This event, which traditionally takes place for a significant number of years now, underlines the systematic support of the Livanos Group for the Greek navy and the family’s long-standing faith in the Chian maritime tradition and know-how.
