The Port Authority of Cartagena has announced to the agricultural and horticultural organizations of the Region of Murcia the new border control post that will open its doors in the coming months. “The new PIF at the Santa Lucía dock will increase competitiveness, food safety and reduce waiting times by tripling the inspection gates for horticultural products, going from four loading docks to fourteen,” stated the president of Cartagena Pedro Pablo Hernández.

This investment has had a budget of 6.1 million euros and, once it has all the furniture, it will become operational in the dock of Cartagena with the aim “of improving regional horticultural traffic with the rest of the world as a consolidated logistics and commercial platform,” added Pedro Pablo Hernández. With these investments and projects, the port of Cartagena is consolidated not only as a benchmark horticultural export platform, but also as a Mediterranean logistics hub prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive and sustainable global market.
