2026 will be the record year for cruise passenger movements in Ravenna. The forecast is from Anna D’Imporzano, general manager of Ravenna Civitas Cruise Port, a company controlled by Icon Infrastructure and Royal Caribbean Group which currently manages the Ravenna passenger terminal: “After a 2025 that, albeit in a limited way, was affected, as expected, by the presence of the construction site for the new maritime station, 6 is shaping up to be a very positive year for the consolidation and growth of the cruise sector in the port of Ravenna.”
The push will come precisely from the new terminal: “After a 2025 that, albeit in a limited way, was affected, as expected, by the presence of the construction site for the construction of the new maritime station, 2026 is shaping up to be a very positive year for the consolidation and growth of the cruise sector in the port of Ravenna,” reads a note from the Adsp romagnola.
The new maritime station, which extends over an area of approximately 5,000 m2, and will consist of two floors, will make the terminal suitable for accommodating 2 ships simultaneously (approx. 7,000 pax). There will also be a 250-meter long and 6-meter wide elevated walkway. Outside the station, auxiliary services will also find space, such as kiosks for small restaurants, bike rentals, a tourist office, and a multicultural crew center. Inside the building, the Port Authority, the State Police, the Customs Agency, and the Financial Police will also be housed.
“The commissioning of this new, sustainable and technologically advanced infrastructure, together with the work that will involve the terminal and the surrounding area, will be an important corollary to the reception of the 111 cruise ship calls at the Porto Corsini passenger terminal (71 in homeport and 40 in transit) planned for 2026, corresponding to approximately 390,000 passenger movements (approximately 383,000 in homeport and approximately 7,000 in transit). This means – concluded D’Imporzano – that cruise traffic in the port of Ravenna in 2026 will record an increase of approximately 58% compared to 2025.”
