On July 15, the Welding Experiment Center of Jinling Shipyard under China Merchants Industry was officially inaugurated, marking a critical step for the company in deepening industry-education integration and leading innovation in welding technology and high-end talent cultivation.

Attendees included Li Ruifeng, Party Committee Secretary of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology; Zhang Shuguang, Deputy Director of the Marine Resource Development Technology Innovation Research Institute; Zhao Xianrui, Dean of the School of Shipbuilding and Intelligent Manufacturing at Jiangsu Maritime Institute; Xiao Hao, Director of the Ship Inspection Program Center; as well as Jiang Jiazhong, General Manager of the company, and Xu Lian, Deputy General Manager. Additionally, Bohai Shipbuilding Vocational College and Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology presented plaques designating the center as a collaborative base.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as cutting-edge trends in the shipbuilding industry, corporate talent pipeline development, and the innovative application of welding technologies. Following the seminar, representatives visited the company’s Welding Skills Master Studio and Physical-Chemical Laboratory to observe daily operations. The event culminated in a joint unveiling ceremony at the Welding Experiment Center, vividly illustrating the robust collaboration between industry and academia to drive the transformation and upgrading of the shipbuilding sector while laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.

The center will integrate advanced research resources from both enterprises and academic institutions, focusing on breakthroughs in welding technology and the practical training of highly skilled professionals. It aims to establish a comprehensive platform combining teaching, technical R&D, and process optimization. Moving forward, the company will continue to strengthen ties with partner institutions, leveraging the center as a cutting-edge hub to explore new pathways for industry-academia-research synergy, thereby forging strong technical and talent support for high-quality development.
